Pre-spring break update

I'm flying home tomorrow for spring break, and I couldn't need it more. Its been a very quick semester for me (I’m already wrapping up week 7, aka the half-way point), and I’m excited to take a week off. Of course this isn’t an entire week of no thought, I have some papers waiting for me when I get back and I’d like to work on those a little at home, but at least I get to have a no commitments for a week.

Academically, I really couldn't be feeling much better. I've been reading a ton, thinking a ton, and studying a ton. I feel pretty good about my work-life balance, which I honestly haven't been able to say in a while. I attended my first grad lecture on Wednesday, and it went really well. The study of Lacan tends to be kind of dense, but I feel like i'm handling it well. I'm going to see a Zizek talk with my girlfrind in April, and I'm realizing my recent academic interests are setting me up very well to understand his kind-of obtuse way of speaking.

Pretty soon I'm gonna tour an apartment I plan on renting next semester and then I just need to pack. Then I'll be on a plane home ready to go back to a place where God doesn't curse the city with gale-force winds and frozen temperatures. Summer can't come soon enough.

First blog post

This is my first post to this site! I've written some blog-adjacent things before (see the reads section of this site or my substack) but never something I've explicitly identified as a blog post. This will probably be the section of my site that I use to rant about whatever’s annoyed me that day (there usually is something; I’m quite opinionated), or talk about what I did that day, or just generally outline an argument or thought’s I’ve had recently. Who knows.

Anyways, I think I'm gonna stay brief with this first post (mostly because I’m in class and my laptop is about to die). I’m hoping to revisit this page soon
